ASHLAND - Eleanor C. Haydock, 83, died Dec. 11, 2008, in Ashland. She was born Jan. 9, 1925, in Ashland, the daughter of Floyd Nicholas "Rusty" and Francis Eleanor Price Cossman, and the granddaughter of Judge F.C. Price, a longtime state legislator for Kansas.

She was a longtime resident of Ashland. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1943, and Stephens College of Colombia, Mo., in 1945, with a degree in fashion merchandising. She moved to Dallas, Texas, and started her employment at the original Neiman Marcus. In 1946, she moved to California and worked at Bullocks Wilshire.

She married Landon D. Haydock in Los Angeles, Calif., on Oct. 26, 1947. After Landon's discharge from the Navy they moved back to Ashland where she has since lived.

Eleanor was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ashland since 1939. She was a longtime member of Presbyterian Women, P.E.O., Cancer Crusade Chm. for Clark County, 20th Century Club, VFW, American Women's Auxiliaries, Cub Scout, and Girl Scout Leader, and, she served on the building committee for the Ashland Library, and the Ashland Library Endowment Association.

She is survived by: her son, Landon D. Haydock, Jr. and wife Vicki, Ashland; daughter, Mary Lee Adams and husband Mike, Emory, Texas; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Landon, and her brothers, Floyd Nicholas Cossman, Jr. and Francis Price Cossman, M.D.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at the Ashland First Presbyterian Church with Marsha Granberry presiding. Myatt Funeral Home, Ashland, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be sent to the Ashland First Presbyterian Church, in care of the funeral home.
