Clark Templeman Jr. son of 3 time National Midget Champion "Shorty" Templeman, was an outstanding race driver in his own rights. Clark Jr. had confined most of his racing to the West Coast, although he had spent four seasons racing with U.S.A.C. in the Midwest, where he had won a feature race at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.

Clark Jr, was killed on June 26, 1982 at Ascot Park Speedway during a qualifying attempt when his car hooked a rut and flipped into a billboard.
