He was born in Georgia, July 9, 1854 and departed this life January 12,1937. He was 82, 6 months and 3 days old.
Mr. Smith lived a good portion of his life in Georgia.
Mr. Smith professed religion, about the age of 21 and united with with the primitive Baptist Church and lived a consecrated Christian life. He had been quit ill and feeble for the past few years and grew worse, rather suddenly on December 5th., 1936 and never recovered from his illiness from that time on.
Mr.Smith had made his home with his son, John T. Smith, whose home is two miles west of Boswell, Ok., which he resided there until his passing.
He married Jane Wicks, January 18, 1887, and to this union, were born six children.
Funeral services were conducted at the Boswell Cemetery Thursday evening, January 14, by Rev. W.W. Moran, in the presence of a number of relatives and friends.
Mr.Smith is survived by two sons, John T. Smith of Boswell,Oklahoma and W.T. Smith of Deport,Texas. Also, by 27 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Jane "Wicks" Smith,1897 and four of his children.
He was laid to rest to await the call of his master.
David Martin and Jane "Wicks"Smith were our Great-Grandparents.
