Louise Overby Gentry, 91, died June 6, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2007, at The Episcopal Church of Reconciliation, 8900 Starcrest, San Antonio, with the Rev. Doug Earle officiating.
Louise was born in Waco, Texas, to the late S. E. and Bertha (Schrader) Overby, Sr. She graduated from Baylor University in 1937 and married Curtis Gentry in 1938, in a ceremony officiated by the Rev. W.R. Rushing, father of Florene Rushing, who later became Louise's sister-in-law when she married Shelton E. Overby, Jr. Louise and Curtis lived in many cities before settling in San Antonio in 1972.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis S. Gentry; and her brother, Shelton E. Overby Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Darrow and husband, Raymond, of Fort Worth; son, Michael Gentry and wife, Barbara Gentry; grandchildren, Melinda Darrow, Stephen Darrow, and Sarah Lindsey; and great-grandson, Greg Darrow.
