Elizabeth Anne Carroll was the daughter of William Oscar and Jessie Beatrice Ridens Carroll. She had two sisters and one brother, that are all now deceased. Lou Nell Carroll Ashford, Edith Earl Carroll Crouse, and brother Maxie Oscar Carroll.

She graduated from Southern State College (now Southern Arkansas University) in Magnolia, Arkansas. She began her lifelong career as an elementary school teacher in Osceola, Arkansas, and retired after years of teaching in Cabot, Arkansas schools.

Anne loved to travel. She spent many of her summers travelling, especially by car. Seeing United States, Mexico, and Canada. She also to a trip with her sister Edith to see the Holy Land.
