Grave of Captain Francis "Frank" Granello of Company I, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was mustered into service on August 13th 1861 at the Arsenal in Philadelphia. He was striken with Typhiod while at Camp Graham in Washington D.C. in the Winter of 61 and remained in bad shape, too ill to serve. He resigned his commishion on January 23rd 1862. After the war he egained his health and moved to Michagan where he became a devout Christian. He died on March 23rd 1893. He was buried at Valley City Cemetery in Gran Rapids, Michagan. Oakhill Cemetery would later surround Valley City Cemetery. Francis is buried in Section K in the Old Valley Hill Section South of Hall Street.
