Patricia Holland Early, 60, of Roanoke, succumbed to her courageous battle with ovarian cancer on October 17, 2006. A Roanoke native, she was a graduate of William Fleming High School in 1964 and National Business College in 1965. She was a former employee of Double Envelope Corporation and was presently employed as a sales associate with Star Tag & Label, Inc., covering a three state area. She was a member of Belmont Christian Church, an avid walker, and a member of the Daughters of The Confederacy, in which she took great pride in participating in Civil War re-enactments, as well as visiting nursing homes and the VA Hospital in her costume regalia. She also modeled in Civil War fashion shows. Most importantly, she provided her family with tremendous love and care. She is survived by her husband, Frank Early; her parents, Giles and Letha Holland; her son, Eric Early; her daughter, Sonia Hayes and her husband Randy Hayes; her grandchildren, Max and Sarah Hayes; aunts, Christine Altice and her husband, Henry, Ruby Wray, Joyce Law and her husband, Eddie, Mary Cundiff, and Martha Early and her husband, Isaac; sisters-in-law, Doris Smith, Corinne Crumley and her husband, Paul, Ann McDermott and her husband, Berk; and brother-in-law, Fred Early. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Belmont Christian Church with the Rev. David Walton officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
