Noel R. Baum, 99, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010. He was born October 29, 1910.

He was a graduate of Ella Williams Grade School and Boonville High School. He had various certificates as Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and Evansville College.

Noel was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Evansville, Masonic Reed Lodge, Hadi Shrine, and Scottish Rite of Evansville.

He was employed at Sunlight Coal Company, Boonville Light and Power, and then hired by SIGECO in 1932 and retired as Superintendent of Electric Operations in 1975.

Noel was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Nora Baum; one sister, Cora Baum; first wife, Dorothy Nelson Baum; and second wife, Frieda Lukemeyer.

He is survived by his son, Jerry N. Baum (Donna); daughter, Betty Speed (Jim); five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; stepson, Doug Lukemeyer (Alice) and John Lukemeyer (Terry) both of Jasper, Ind.; stepdaughter, Sue Chappell of Columbus, Ind.; nine stepgrandchildren; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.
