November 24, 2009 PLANO, TX - Doris Virginia Kilpatrick Chapman of Plano, Texas was born on January 13, 1918 in Haynesville, Louisiana to Dayton and Ila Kilpatrick. She graduated from Haynesville High School, and attended Louisiana Tech University.

She spent most of her adult life in Shreveport, La. rearing three daughters. She was employed by the J. C. Trahan Company for many years and ended her career working for the Austin E. Stewart Estate. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Shreveport, The Desk and Derrick Club, and the PEO where she was very active and made friendships that spanned 60 years.

Survivors include her daughters Sandra Chapman Carlisle and husband Joseph of Plano, Texas and Harriette Chapman Yates and husband Grady of Prosper, Texas; a sister, Emilie Marie Kilpatrick Nipper of LeCompte, Louisiana; two brothers, Bill J. Kilpatrick and James L. Kilpatrick of Covington, Louisiana. She is also survived by seven grand children and seven great grand children.

A memorial service will be held at Colonial Lodge Assisted Living Center on Friday December 4, 2009 at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Hospice Center, 101 W. Renner Road #420, Richardson, Texas 75082; or to Shreveport Green, 3625 Southern Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana 71104.
