John R. Belt, Jr., 59, of Lumberton died Thursday, September 18, 2003 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital. A native of Oakdale, Louisiana and lifetime area resident, Mr. Belt retired as a purchasing agent for Mobil. He served as a United States Army Vietnam veteran. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2003 at Broussard's, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont followed by burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday evening, September 19, 2003 at the mortuary. Survivors include his son, John Robert iB.J.i Belt, iii; daughter, Mary Kathryn Belt Martin and her husband Allen; parents, John Sr. and Rachel Belt all of Lumberton; and unborn granddaughter, McKenzie Martin.
