Actress. Producer. Born Jacqueline Browne in San Luis Obispo, California, she began acting at the age of six in a school play. In her teens, she moved to Hollywood to study at Los Angeles City College while acting in small theaters. She was spotted during a stage production of "Cat On a Hot Tin Roof" and given a shot at television, making her debut around 1958. She appeared first on "Gunsmoke" then "Bonanza", where she was being considered for Pernell Roberts character's bride until he decided to leave the show. She was a regular in the short lived 1967 series "Hondo." She guest starred in numerous television series such as "77 Sunset Strip," "My Favorite Martian," "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour," "The Rockford Files," "Ironside," "Police Story," "Mannix," "Banacek," "Get Smart," and "Star Trek." Her feature films included "Cinderfella" (1960), "The Slowest Gun In The West" (1963), "The Brass Bottle" (1964), "Brainstorm" (1965), "Berlin Affair" (1970), "Zero To Sixty" (1978) and "Xanadu" (1980). She married actor Darren McGavin in 1969 and, in 1972, they co-founded the production company Taurean Films. Her last filmed appearance was as a guest interview in 2000, speaking about her experiences on the "Star Trek" episode in which she appeared, "Wink of an Eye," for a DVD release.
