GAINESBORO -- Funeral services for Helen Mayberry lackey, 68, of Gainesboro, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, from the chapel of Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 25, and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lackey died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, in Cumberland River Hospital in Celina.
She was born October 5, 1942, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Morgan Mayberry and Nervy Jane Dill Mayberry. On July 19, 1969, she was married to the late Earl R. Lackey, who passed away December 14, 1997. She was a former employee of Washington Manufacturing Co., and of the Church of Christ faith.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Willis Mayberry and Ernest "Jam Up" Mayberry.
Survivors include 1 Son: Earl Glenn (Regina) Lackey of Nashville, TN; 1 Daughter: Lisa (Joel) Lackey - Reeves of Gainesboro, TN; 4 Step-Daughters: Jane Campbell of Smyrna, TN, Wanda Bowman of Lebanon, TN, Kathy Bowman of Florida, and Karen Wardell of Florida; 6 Grandchildren: Ashley Helen, Emily Lynn, Justin Edward, River Levette, Austin Rogers, and Cheyenne Ariel; 2 Sisters: Louise (F.C.) Pruett and Dorothy Johnson, both of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Sister-in-Law: Katherine Mayberry of Gainesboro, TN; 5 Step-Grandchildren; 7 Step-Great Grandchildren; and 1 Step-Great Great Grandchild. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.
Bro. Jimmy Anderson will officiate at the services.
