Titanic Survivor. She was a third class passenger on board the RMS Titanic. She boarded the ship with her father John on April 10, 1912, in Southampton, England. She was 16 years old at the time is the disaster. She was rescued from lifeboat #12 by the RMS Carpathia and arrived in New York City on April 18, 1912. Her father did not survive the Titanic disaster. She died 62 years later in April 1974 from a recent brain hemorrhage.

Laura Mae (Cribb) Buzzell, a 27 year resident of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away on April 4, 1974, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She was born on July 24, 1895, in Newark, New Jersey, the daughter of Bessie Jane (Welch) and John Hatfield Cribb. Her mother was an immigrant from England in 1890; and her father immigrated in 1886 from Austria. Her father, John, passed away 62 years before Laura on April 15, 1912, during the sinking of the RMS Titanic.

Laura had gone to England with her family. She boarded the RMS Titanic with her father John on April 10, 1912, in Southampton, England. She was 16 years old at the time of the disaster. She was rescued from lifeboat #12 by the RMS Carpathia and arrived in New York City on April 18, 1912.

In 1916 she was married to the Howard Marsh Buzzell in Parkstone, England. They returned to the U.S. in 1919, moving to Carlsbad, NM, from Phoenix, AZ.

Laura was a member of Epworth Church, Rebekah Lodge No 13, LAPM of Hobbs and past president of LAPM.

Laura is survived by three daughters, Virginia Eileen Williams (husband, Louis) of Wilmington, DE, Elizabeth Ellen Kendall (husband, Frank Gambler) of Atlanta, GA, and Shirley Mae Carroll (husband, Henry) of Lompoc, CA; and two sons, Howard John Stephen Buzzell of Carthage, NY, and Ernest Millard Buzzell, of Gouveneur, NY; and one brother, Ernest Cribb of London, England; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
