George W. Behn, born March 22, 1872 in Texas, to the union of John Mosley Behn, Sr. and Mary Barber Behn. His mother having died when he was very young, George and his younger brothers, Arthur and Henry James, were raised by his father and stepmother, Nancy Hanks Bramlett Behn, the only mother he ever knew. He was the oldest child of 16 children of John Mosley Behn, Sr.

He departed this life at the age of 101 years.

Preceding him in death are his parents; nine brothers: Arthur, J.E., Henry James, (Prince) Albert, Charlie, Thomas W., Leroy (Luraine), Samuel and Mosley; and two sisters, Mattie Jones and Alverta Behn.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Behn of Bakersfield, CA; one stepdaughter; two brothers: John Mosley Behn, Jr. of Odessa, TX and Dr. General Eckie Behn of Chicago, IL.; two sisters: Addie Miller of TX and Julia Barbara Reid of San Francisco, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers: Taft McCoy, Theodis Rivers, Jeff Wilson, Earl Charles, William LaViolet and C.J. Horton.

Services entrusted to the Jesse E. Cooley, Jr. Funeral Service, 1203 California Avenue, Bakersfield, CA.
