Mr. Melvin Banks, Sr. was born to Mr. Henry, Sr. and Mrs. Armella Banks on May 30, 1936 in the state of Arkansas. He ended his labors Monday, October 17, 1977 at the age of 41 years in the City of Fresno, California.

He had been a resident of Fresno for 36 years and was a member of the Elks Lodge and Masonic Lodge. During his stay, he gained many kind and devoted friends. He will be deeply missed by the friends in the community he loved so dearly, but God doeth all things for the best and it is for us to trust in his infinite ways...Therefore, we commend his spirit back to the God that gave it and may he rest in everlasting peace.

He leaves to mourn in his passing: His wife, Mrs. Annie L. Banks; (5) sons, Mr. Melvin Banks, Jr., Mr. Lloyd Sherman Banks, both of Los Angeles, CA, Mr. Lee Arthur Banks, Mr. Terry Banks of San Jose, CA, and Mr. Eric Banks; (3) daughters, Miss Marline Banks, Miss Melody Banks, Miss Veda Banks, all of Fresno, CA; (4) brothers, Mr. Aaron Banks, Mr. Henry Banks, Jr., both of Fresno, CA, Mr. Freddie Banks of Seatle, WA, and Mr. Dan E.
