London politician and philanthropist who opened a charity school in Aldgate, London, as well as endowing another school in Hackney. In 1712, he became Master of the Carpenters' Company and Sheriff of the City of London. He was also a Member of Parliament for the City of London in 1710 and 1713.

The school still exists, and many buildings around Aldgate bear the title of John Cass. A memorial exists in the nearby church of St Botolphs, but Cass himself was buried a short distance away in Whitechapel.
