COLDWATER — Shirley Odell "Buster" Brown Jr., 48, died Monday, July 12, 2010, at South Wind Hospice House, Pratt.
He was born July 31, 1961, at Pawpaw, Mich., to Shirley Odell Brown and Karen Arter. He married Becky Reed on June 27, 2009. She survives.
He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army before retiring in 2007.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Karen and Fred Wiles, Decatur, Mich.; his stepmother, Arlene Brown, Coldwater; one daughter, Christine Brown, Coldwater; three sons, Adam Haseley, New York, Bob Brown, New York and Nick Brown, Michigan; one brother, Bob Brown, Michigan; four sisters, Lola Harris and Awanda Rodriguez, both of Michigan, Lori Corbin of Missouri and Angela Brown, Mullinville; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church, Coldwater. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, with full military honors.
Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Memorials are suggested to the South Wind Hospice or Cancer Center of Kansas in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater.
