LTC CHARLES BOARDMAN of La Casa Assisted Living in Cocoa Beach, FL - he was the son of Charles Holloway and Cleo Margaret Swaim Boardman. Charles graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering and a Master's of Science in Chemical Engineering, was employed by Dow Chemical in MI, was a retired, WWII, U.S. Military veteran, spent several years in the family business in Columbus, OH and was recalled to active duty during the Korean War as a chemical engineer retiring in 1966. He earned numerous awards including the Bronze Star. Charles was employed at the Kennedy Space Center and retired from Pan American. Preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Janet, in January 2013 and brother, Jack, surviving are brother, James; son, Charles, IV (Elizabeth) of Lake City, FL and grandchildren, Charles V (sarah) Sansom, Nancy (Dr. Albert) Bleakley of Cocoa, FL, Ruth Bleakley and Martha Brookley. He also is survived by two children, Dr Christine Barnes and Paula Gaspar and four grandchildren by a previous marriage. Charles was a 32 degree Mason and Shriner for 73 years. A funeral service will be held May 18, 2013 at Riverside Presbyterian Church in Cocoa Beach, FL. Beckman-williamson Funeral Home in cocoa Beach is serving the family.
