Mr. Beattie was a tireless advocate for himself and others. He was a member of the R.I.C.L.A.S. advocacy group, ALLADVOCATESTOGETHER. He was on the statewide board of Advocates in Action and received the "Broken Record" Award for his advocacy work. He was an active member of the R.I. Developmental Disabilities Council. Mr. Beattie was also a valued member of the R.I.C.L.A.S. Human Rights Committee for many years. Mr. Beattie was very active. He attended Park Place in Cranston. He enjoyed attending parties and advocacy conferences. He was also a member of the R.I.C.L.A.S. Chorus for several years and a member of the bell chorus for two years. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco's Church, 931 Atwood Ave. Johnston at 10 a.m. Private burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford, CT. VISITING HOURS are Monday morning from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
