His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at State Line General Baptist Church in Portland, where he was a member,
Two of his sons, Lee Elwood "Woody" Alderson of Westmoreland and Chad Owen Alderson of Scottsville, Ky., will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Sons and his son-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home and 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at Crafton Funeral Home in Franklin, Ky.
Born Sept. 23, 1943, in Franklin, he was a son of Mort Reeder Alderson and Agnes Pauline Akers Alderson, both deceased.
Alderson was a retail manager and farmer. He bred and raised Tennessee Walking Horses. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of New Roe Lodge in Franklin. He also was a member of Al Menah Shrine Temple.
He also leaves one daughter: Meggen Alderson (David) Strickland of Edison, Ga.; three other sons: Timothy Mort "Tim" (Melody) Anderson of Hawsville, Ky., Joseph Anthony (Donna) Alderson of Franklin and Richard Matthew (Linda) Alderson of Fort Worth, Texas;
Two other daughters-in-law: Darla ("Woody") Alderson of Westmoreland and Susan (Chad) Alderson of Scottsville; two sisters: Linda Avants of Louisiana and Jean Barber of Franklin; two brothers: Eldon B. and Jerry Michael Alderson, both of Franklin; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
