NEWTON FALLS - Twila Lucille Abbuhl, 81, died Friday, May 24, 2013, after a long illness at Laurie Ann Nursing Home in Newton Falls.

She was born May 30, 1931, in Deerfield, the daughter of Harlow A. and Vernice L. Ellison Loomis.

She graduated from Deerfield High School in 1949 and was married to Robert L. Abbuhl on Nov. 27, 1949.
Twila attended Deerfield Friends Church and Palmyra Methodist Church. She enjoyed doing needlepoint crafts, jigsaw puzzles and reading. She also enjoyed attending the many events and activities in which her grandchildren were involved.

She is survived by five sons, Michael (Patty), Alan (Mary Jo), Dennis (Shauna) and Ronald (Donna) of Diamond and Richard (Jill) of Deerfield. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and by brothers, Raymond (Ruth) Loomis of Fort Wayne, Ind., Glenn (Mary) Loomis of Dalton and Walter (Dolly) Loomis of Oceola, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; and her sister, Dorothy J. Stanton.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday officiated by Pastor Don Booth.

Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery
