Musician. He was a singer, songwriter and a guitarist. In January 1980, he along with bassist Mike Watt and drummer George Hurley, formed the punk rock band "Minutemen". Together with Boon's very distinctive guitar style, the group's recordings included: "Double Nickels on the Dime," "This Ain't No Picnic," "Corona," "The Price of Paradise," and "Courage." The band had continued success until Boon was killed in a van accident in the Arizona desert near the Californian border on Highway Route I-10.
