Died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1988, at Riverland Medical Center, Ferriday. She was 83, a native of Riley [sic Reiley], former resident of Bluff Creek and a resident of Concordia Nursing Home, Ferriday. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home, Clinton, 9 a.m. Tuesday until religious services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Michael McCarty Townsend. Burial in Masonic Cemetery.
Survived by a son, James Nesom, Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren, James Nesom Jr., Houma, and Evelyn Newsom, Noble, Okla.
Preceded in death by husband, Marcus S. Newsom; and a son, Willie Alvin Newsom.
Honorary pallbearer is Joe Townsend.
