The Rev. Florence J. Ball, 89, of Aston, a retired cosmetologist and practical nurse, died Feb. 5 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
Born in Baltimore, Md., she lived in Aston for 40 years.
She was a cosmetologist and a practical nurse. She was retired from the Young World Day Care in Claymont, Del.
Rev. Ball was a diligent working member in St. Luke Community Christian Church. She received her Elder's Orders in 1980 from U.C.C. Church Council.
She was a member of the Senior Choir, the Coleman Circle, the Women's Christian Service Council and Pastors Aid. She was also an advisor to the Youth Department and the B.F. Ball Youth Choir.
Rev. Ball was daughter of the late Irving E. Johnson and Emma C. Johnson and was widow of the Rev. Benjamin F. Ball.
She was mother of the late Kym Ball and sister of the late James, William, Harry and Irving Johnson and Mary and Ethel Johnson.
Survivors: Daughter, Diana B. Bey of Aston; sister, Emma Wilson of Baltimore, Md.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Luke's Community Christian Church, 320 Tilghman St., Chester.
Visitation: 8-10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Burial: Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester.
