Adolph Henry Dege was a restaurateur, small business owner, barber, and butcher in the Kansas City metropolitan area for many years. He was the son of August Wilhelm Dege and Mary Anna Margaretha Evers Dege of Craig, Holt County, Missouri.

He was the husband of Beulah Eva Klopp Dege and the father of Beverly Mildred Dege Decker, both interred at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City in Wyandotte County, Kansas.

Enlisting in the U.S. Army at Mound City in Holt County, Missouri, on April 15, 1917, he was assigned as a cook to Company L of the 139th Infantry Regiment of the 35th Infantry Division. He saw action in France in the Wesserling Sector during the Meuse-Argonne and St. Mihiel Offensives and in the Verdun Sector between July 16, 1918, and November 5, 1918. He was awarded two Gold Service Chevrons. He was honorably discharged on April 14, 1919.

He was the brother of Clara Elizabeth Dege Peters (1884-1969) and Ella M. Dege.
