Elmer E. Scott was born on Oct. 4, 1920, to Houston Edward and Mary Lee Van Winkle Scott, in the community of Spring Valley in Northwest Arkansas.

He died at age 85 in Bentonville, AR, on May 16, 2006.

He had been self-employed as a plumber and electrician.

On June 28, 1941, he married Mabel Geraldine 'Jerry' Lawson. They had two daughters, Carolyn Sue Mulanax and Joan Dean Chism, also of Bentonville, AR; and one son, Jake E. Scott, of Bentonville. He is also survived by a brother, Jimmy Scott of Carthage, MO; one sister, Ruth Gayer of Goshen, AR; four grandchildren; one stepgrandson; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family that loved him dearly and will miss him so very much.

He was an Air Force veteran of WWII and a member of the Foot Hills of the Ozarks Car Club and the American Legion.


Services were held at Bethel Baptist Church in Bentonville with Brandon Cox officiating. Burial is in Bentonville Cemetery.
