An avid hiker and camper until health issues slowed him down Bruce enjoyed life around a campfire with family and friends. A night under the stars was living the dream.
Never married, Bruce was the cool uncle. He was actively involved in the lives of his nieces and nephews, supporting through listening and caring about their lives. His holiday decorations were exceptional and enjoyed by all.
Survived by brothers Chad Helfrich of Eugene and Douglas (Nanci) Helfrich of Oakland, Oregon; and sisters Sheron (Bruce) Watson of Prince Frederick, Maryland and Linda (Russ) Cron of Eugene, along with several nieces and nephews. Bruce also had two special family members, Alanna and Madison.
No service has been schedule by his request. A private gathering of the family will occur at his favorite campground this summer.
The family would like to thank the RiverBend ICU Doctors, Nurses and Social Workers who helped us during his stay.
Bruce was much loved, and will be greatly missed by all.
