He stated that she was never married but being her nephew would he have known that if his aunt's husband either died or abandoned her before he was old enough to remember. It appears that she took her maiden name back according to the 1940 census of Tyler, Texas and as it appears on her grave marker. However, her nephew George was 27 in 1930 and 68 in 1971 at the time of her death, he was old enough to have known whether his aunt had ever been married or not???.... was Sarah Lou "Sallie" Collier married to Will H Carlton or not???
