The headstone is inscribed for both Jean Ecuer and Mrs Jean Ecuer. Her maiden name was Leonie Court and according to her marriage record she was the daughter Sophie Justice and Henri Court. She emigrated to Louisiana in July of 1888 and within a couple of months married fellow immigrant Jean Ecuer. She was the mother of Sophie Louise (Ecuer) Robichaux, John Henry Ecuer, Charles F Ecuer, Marie Louise (Ecuer) Farlay - then Schultz, Alice Lydia "Mamie" (Ecuer) Anderson and Marguerite Angele (Ecuer) Provost.
