A 12-year-old girl from Defiance who recently lost her fight to cancer is getting her Christmas wish fulfilled. Tiana's wish was to help spread holiday cheer to other children who are facing medical struggles.

Tiana Bishop's battle against a rare form of bone marrow cancer ended exactly one month ago when she passed away. Tuesday, her spirit and character were on full display as her wish was carried out at Toledo Children's Hospital.

Tiana's wish was for those being treated to have a proper Christmas celebration. With help from her parents, dozens of volunteers, and Santa Claus delivering presents, it was all about putting smiles on kids' faces and making that wish come true.

This one-day drive hosted by a Defiance radio station helped raise more than $12,000 for the cause.

"She's watching us and I know this is what she wanted more than anything. She kept a journal and in the journal was on our instructions on how to make this wish happen, and it was including the gifts being specific to what the kids wanted," said Patty Bishop, Tiana's mother.

The second part of Tiana's wish will happen on Christmas Eve when the children at the hospital will enjoy a catered meal. Tiana disliked hospital food.

Bishop said 'Tiana's Wish' is now going to become an annual tradition.
