Robert "Robbie" Eugene Caskey, III, 9, of South 2nd Avenue, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011, at his residence. Born Nov. 28, 2001, in Lincoln County, he was the son of Robert Eugene Caskey, Jr. and Heather Kristin Engle Caskey. Robbie was a member of Cornerstone Church in Maiden and attended Maiden Elementary School. He is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfathers, Hershal McSwain and Ray Engle; and his paternal great-grandmother, Margie Powell. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Bobby and Heather Engle Caskey, of the home; one brother, Carson Cas-key, of the home; his grandparents, Bob and Barbara Caskey, of Mai-den; and Tommy and Patti Engle of Lin-colnton; his maternal great-grandmothers, Mary Sue McSwain, of Lincolnton; and Lorine Engle of Iron Station; his paternal great-grand-mother, Elsie Scronce, of Lincolnton; and his paternal great-grandfather, Grover Pless, of Troutman; his aunts and uncles, Misty Caskey Clay and her husband, Bradley, of Mt. View; Lesley Caskey Crouse and her husband, Jason, of Maiden; and Matthew Engle of Lincolnton; as well as numerous cousins. The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 10, at 3 p.m. at Cornerstone Church in Maiden with the Rev. Jonathan Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Maiden City Cemetery.
