Robert was the son of Thomas and Mary Jane (Westbrook) Benefield and was born in Buckholt, OK. He attended Buckholt and Atoka schools. He worked as a barber. He married Elwanda (Smith) in 1939; she preceded him in death in May of 1971. Booner then married Juanita (Holland) Ridgeway on June 13, 1978 in Durant, OK. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, using his metal detector, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Elwanda; son, Max Benefield; three sisters and six brothers.
