Johnny Dale "Gong Gong" Eskue, age 65, a Atoka, OK resident, was born on Friday, August 6, 1948, to Jessie and Wauneta (Cleaver) Eskue, at Farris, OK. Johnny passed away on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Durant, OK. He attended Farris and graduated Atoka High School in 1966. Later he attended Eastern Oklahoma State College. Johnny was a welder and machinist, he worked a number of years in Russia, Siberia, and Alaska and the last five years for Black Gold well testing. He married Linda (Chitwood) on June 10, 1967 in Atoka, OK. Johnny was a longtime member of the Atoka First Baptist Church. He and Linda were devout musicians, they appeared in Branson as the Eskue Family and later was with the Blended Gifts Gospel Group. He served as a disaster relief chaplain and was the oil field chaplain. He loved fishing and hunting with his grandchildren. Playing music was his life's passion and he loved to dance with "Nana" Linda. John's life was his testimony of his love for Christ. His approach to life was to work hard, do right, love his family and friends, and adore his wife of 46 years. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Wauneta (Cleaver) Eskue; mother and father-in-law, Rose and Jack Chitwood; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie & Jim Messall, Patsy Eskue, Melvin Flowers; beautiful granddaughter, Shyatesa.
