Janice Megan ( J. Megan) Downs, age 24, of Odessa, was taken from us unexpectedly Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in La Grange, TX on July 29, 1986 to Scott and Michele Downs. She was a 2004 graduate of Odessa High School, where she had participated in the Bronchettes. She went on and graduated from Southwestern Institute with her medical assistant's license in 2006.
Janice was a bright, cheerful, and loving person with a really big heart. She was always there for her friends and family and everyone loved and respected her. She could boss her brothers like no one else.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her mother: Michele Davis of Odessa; soulmate and companion: Chris Pinson of Odessa; paternal grandparents: Karen and Covan Downs of Artesia, NM; maternal grandparents: Mike and Pam Pettigrew of Yuma, AZ; daughter: Elizabeth Pinson of Odessa; and four brothers: Jason Michael Pettigrew Downs, Jacob Mitchell Pettigrew Downs, Joshua Charles Jolly, and Michael Bassam Ali, all of Odessa.
Her father: Scott Downs and her uncle: Matthew Kimbro precede her in death.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Bro. Dewey Blevins. Graveside services will be 10 am MST, Monday, December 13, 2010 at Artesia Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia, NM. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.
