Rudolph E. Kornegay, 94, Oxford, FL went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2014 in Gainesville, Florida. Mr. Kornegay was born on March 10, 1920 in Sturgis, Mississippi to his parents Robert Sidney Thomas Kornegay and Mary Elizabeth (East) Kornegay. Mr. Kornegay had worked for the State of Florida in Maintenance and had also been a farmer. He was a longtime resident of Oxford and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Oxford, Florida. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He loved to farm and had always worked hard all his life. He is survived by his loving sons: Gene (Donna) Kornegay of Oxford, FL, Robert (Brenda) Kornegay of Trenton, FL and Danny Wayne (Katrina) Kornegay of Oxford, FL; fifteen grandchildren; thirty six great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Hazel Janette Kornegay. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 10:00AM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Oxford, Florida with Burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Wildwood, FL.
