ERNEST R. BYRUM SR., 75, of Tampa died Monday. A native of Greenville, N.C., he moved to the area in 1958. He was an automobile mechanic, a veteran of World War II and a member of First Apostolic Church. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; a son, Walter Ray of Tampa; a daughter, Leona Ugarte of Dade City; two brothers, Daniel of Greenville and Vernon of Henderson, Nev.; four sisters, Lois Bullock of Rocky Mount, N.C., Marjorie Hardee of Greenville, Doris Spivey of Wilmington, N.C., and Ernestine Shackleford of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
