Mary Jane Forbes was the oldest child of William & Hannah (Buckingham) Forbes.
In 1831 the Forbes family (headed by Caleb & Mary) came to Marshall county from Currituck Co, NC. In 1832 the Buckingham family (headed by Isaac & Sarah) came to adjacent Woodford Co, from Greene Co, PA. Both families were amongst the very first settlers in the area.
