Quentin Edwards, son of the late Johnny Martin Edwards and Venia White Edwards, was born on Dec. 19, 1925, in Anaheim, Calif., and died on July 25, 2009, in his residence near Dexter at the age of 83.
Mr. Edwards was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II, a former employee of the Signode Corporation, a member of the Malden Masonic Lodge, Dexter Elks Lodge #2439 and a resident of rural Dexter.

He was united in marriage to Barbara Russell on June 7, 1957, at Dexter. Mrs. Edwards preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2007.

He is survived by one son, Marc Edwards of Dexter; one daughter, Libby Hamilton and husband Charlie of Lakeside, Texas; one grandson, Quentin Hamilton of Lakeside, Texas; and two sisters, Victoria Ginter of Tennessee and Dessie Like of Michigan.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009.

Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery near Campbell.

Memorials may be made to the 18 Fore Life, 705 Laurie Circle, Dexter, Mo. 63841 or the Dexter Elks Scholarship Fund, 325 North Two Mile Road, Dexter, Mo. 63841.
