Sanford Elting, 73, died last night at the home, 1015 East Truman road, Independence. He moved to Independence in 1929 from Carthage, Mo., where he was born. He worked for the Union Wire Rope company ten years and was formerly a stone cutter at Carthage many years. He was a member of the Spring Branch Reorganized Latter Day Saint church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nola Elting of the home; a son, Robert Elting, Sulphur, Ok.; two stepsons, Richard Johnson and Wilson Johnson, Hammond, Ind.; a brother, William Elting, 3132 Benton, and a sister, Mrs. Grace Mealey, Carthage. Services will be held at 3:30 o'clock Saturday at the Speaks chapel, Independence, and at 2 o'clock Sunday at the Ulmer chapel, Carthage. Burial will be in Fasken Cemetery near Carthage.
