Mary Diane DePreste, age 40, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away at 5:35 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at her home. She was born December 8, 1975, in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of Gary and Peggy (Hensley) Lewis.
Mary attended school and graduated in Joplin Mo. and was a Nurse Technician for Freeman Health Systems in Joplin, Sarcoxie Nursing Center, and the Missouri Veteran's Home in Mt. Vernon. She was a member of the House of Prayer Church in Monett, Missouri and a firm believer that she was Saved through the Grace of God and the Sacrifice of Jesus on The Cross.
Mary met Charles DePreste in Joplin at age 14 and they soon fell in love. On July 1, 1994, she married Charles in Fredonia, Kansas. Charles and Mary had four children and remained married to present date.
Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 21 years, Charles; her mother, Peggy Wright, of Joplin; her father, Gary Lewis, and his wife, Chalila, of Erie, two daughters, Janelle DePreste-Parker (who carries Mary's first grandchild) and her husband, Amos Parker, and Allison DePreste; two sons, Charles DePreste Jr. and Skylar Lewis, all of Sarcoxie; her sister, Michelle Lewis; and half-sisters Mindy and Shelly, her mother-in-law, Deborah Klouse; father-in-law, Brian DePreste Sr. and his wife, Donita, and her brother-in-law, Brian K. DePreste, Jr. and his wife Melinda.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon. Burial will follow at the Miller Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Miller, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016, in the funeral home chapel.
