Second child of Alva Josephine (Davis) and Wallace Gerald Blair. The family was residing in Collinsville, CT when Richard succumbed to bronchitis.

One of his ten siblings, Marilyn Jane (Blair) Parmelee, passed away in 1987.

When he died, Richard was only one day shy of being 23 months old, not 15 months old as stated in both the obituary and funeral notice.
