Gust O Anderson, 63, of Altona, died Tuesday at 3PM in St. Mary's Hospital, where he was a patient two days. He had been ill several months.
Funeral rites will be held Friday at 2PM in the Hendricks Funeral Home, Oneida, where friends may call Thursday night. Military services will be conducted by the Altona American Legion post at the graveside in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Anderson, a self-employed painter and decorator, was born February 7, 1897, at Altona, where he resided all his life.
He was married to Minnie Youngren in Altona February 29, 1924. He was a member of the Altona Lutheran Church and local legion post. In World War I, he served in the Army from May 3, 1917, to September 24, 1919, with duty in the Panama Canal Zone.
Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Robert W Ronk, Galesburg, and three grandchildren.
Two brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral rites for Gust O Anderson, 63, of Altona, who died Tuesday, were held Friday at 2PM in the Hendricks Funeral Home, Oneida. The Rev. AJ Tatzlaff of the Altona Immanuel Lutheran Church officiated.
Selections were offered by a vocal quartet comprised of Clair Colburn, Arthur Rosander, Anton Amenoff and Victor Bloomquist, accompanied by Mrs. Lennie Sebastian, organist.
Military honors were accorded at the graveside in the Walnut Grove Cemetery by Altona post of the American Legion.
Pallbearers were Henry Larson, Elmer Bloomquist, Arthur Lundholm, Ivar Anderson, Leonard Nelson and Frank Clifford, all World War I veterans and members of the Altona post. The deceased was a veteran of World War I.
