FEB 10, 1932 THE REPUBLICAN HERALD Mary C. Anderson, one of the best known and most loved wemon of Metroplis, died at her home, 625 East Seventh Street, early Sunday morning. Funeral services, conducted by Rev W.T. Nichols, were held at the Christian church at two O'clock Tuesday afternoon, following which the body was taken to Joppa for interment in the Odd fellows cemetery there the active casket, bearing were Wm. Fehrman, W.R. Teuton, J.R. Weaver, T.e. Craig, Walter Love and Charles Williamson. The honorary, casket beares were eight members of the loyal Women's class, The songs were by Mrs. Ethel Irving, Mrs Blanche Elliott Grace, Willard Elliott and Mr. Schoeder. Mary C. Bonifield daughter of MR. and Mrs. Jack Bonifield, was born in Massac County July 1, 1850 and passed away at her home at Metroplis, Illinois, Sunday morning, Feb. 7, 1932 at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 6 days. She was united in marriage with W.H. Breazels Feb 21, 1869, To this union three children were born, two of whom preceded her in death. Mr. Breazele passed away in March 1876. In 1879 she was united in marriage to T.R. Anderson to this union three children were born, all of whom preceded her in death, Mr. Anderson passed away in July. 1925. Mrs Anderson united with the Christian church early in life, and has been a member of the Frist Christian Church of Metroplis, for more than thirty years. She was a member of the Loyal Women's class of the Sunday school. Until the last few years, when her health became somewhat impaired, she was a very active worker in every department of the church, giving herself unselfishly to the cause she loved so dearly. Besides caring for her own children and household, she reared thirteen orphan children giving them the same affectionate care and love as if they were her own. Mrs Anderson was always a willing helper in a time of sickness and need, and many people were helped over the hard and rough places of life by her kind, sympathetic and unselfish service. She was always regared as a mother by everyone in her neighborhood, She is survived by one son Mr. William Breazele of Joppa, one halfbrother Mr. Jack Bomifield of Choate, and nine grandchildren besides a host of other realatives and friends.
