A retired Darke county farmer, Simon W. Bashore, 69, died at 5:20 p.m. yesterday at Wayne hospital here from the effects of a heart attack he suffered Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Bashore who resided at the west edge of the village of Dawn, was a Darke county native. He had spent most of his life in the Dawn area. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Miller funeral home in Versailles with the Rev. Paul Getter officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today and after noon Saturday. Surviving are his wife, Martha; two sons, Raymond of Piqua and Roger of Versailles; four daughters, Mrs. Jane Ellison of Arcanum; Mrs. Arceal Fellers of Greenville; Mrs. Betty Monnin of Ansonia and Mrs. Helen Saintignon of Versailles; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Melvin Fourman of Arcanum.
