Funeral services for Charles L. Balmer Sr., 53, of New Albany, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, at Pyke-Calloway Funeral Service, 1217 E. Spring St., New Albany, with burial in Wolfe Cemetery, Georgetown. He died Monday, June 25, 2007, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a native of New Albany, born Dec. 6, 1953.
He was a self-employed auto mechanic and served in the 151st Battalion, Indiana Army National Guard.
Survivors include his mother, Doris T. Balmer, New Albany; former wife, Becky J. Balmer, a son, Charles L. Balmer Jr., New Albany; a daughter, Chanda L. Balmer, New Albany; a brother, Carl Balmer, Jeffersonville; two sisters, Carolyn Kaye Young, Paoli and Connie Perryman, New Albany; and two grandchildren, Charles L. Balmer III and Jessica M. Hardin, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Balmer; and an infant sister, Linda.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 28 and after 9 a.m. Friday.
