HARVEY COUNTY
In the spring of 1874, Dr. J. L. McAtee built the first residence and was the first actual settler. He was followed by G. A. Thompson and J. E. Howard, in the order mentioned.

world to Kansas as a great wheat producing state.
The first export bill of lading out of Wichita on a car of
Kansas flour was put through one of the Wichita banks by the Howard Mills Company in 1895.
J.E. Howard was Water commissioner in Wichita for a number of year.
