JASPER Lance Rodney Barnett, 64, passed away, Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Grandview Medical Center. He was a farmer and employed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He loved God, his family, cattle and John Deere tractors.Mr. Barnett was preceded in death by his parents, C L and Abbie Lewis Barnett Sr.; brothers, Jackie and Kenny Barnett and a sister, Reba Tankersley.He is survived by his wife, Dr. Frances Harper Barnett; sons, Rod Barnett, Nashville, Reg (Tina) Barnett, Huntsville and Bryan (Kim) Sox, Jasper; brothers, C L (Linda) Barnett Jr., Jasper, and Paul (Carol) Barnett, Chattanooga; sisters; Kay (Charles) Parkerson, Nashville, and Pat (Matt) Osborne, Houston; grandchildren, Lance Ethan, Megan, Toryn, Cam, Stuart and Evan.Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper First Baptist Church at 1 p.m. CST, Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, with Brother David Grisham officiating.Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. CST on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, with a Masonic Service to follow at 7 p.m.In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Lance's memory to the Ronald McDonald House.
