Roy E. Benjamin, 68, of North Syracuse, passed away Sunday at home. He served in the Army during Vietnam, where he was awarded numerous medals including the Purple Heart. Roy was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. He retired from Boorum Pease Manufacturing. Roy was predeceased by his mother, Rachel B. Provost, and his brother, Patrick. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, the former Dorothy M. Slaubaugh; his son, Kurt J. Benjamin; two sisters, Sherry Provost and Charlene Stupp of Syracuse; a brother, Robert Provost of Syracuse; a granddaughter, Rachel. Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home, Inc., 1604 Grant Blvd. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Contributions may be made to D.A.V., 205 S. Salina St., Syracuse, NY 13202.
