Rev. Brady was born in County Cavan Ireland, the son of Mary Smith and Peter Brady. When he came to the United States in 1880, he studied for the priesthood at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. He had served at St. Jerome's Church in Tamaqua before become the rector of St. Leo's Church in Philadelphia. He was survived by his brother, Rev. Michael J. Brady, who was the rector of St. Elizabeth's Church in Philadelphia.
