Oran A. Callantine, 89, died Sunday at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. He was born in 1889 in Pleasantville, Iowa, and moved to Montana in 1892 with his parents. The family homesteaded in the Dry Creek area. He farmed in the area until the early 1920s, after which he worked for Montana Flour Mills. After retiring in 1954, he lived in the Bear Canyon area for several years and moved to Manhattan in 1960.

Survivors include his wife, Frankie; three sons, Alvin of Bozeman, Francis of Kelso, Wash., and Wayne of Spokane, Wash.; one stepson, Wendel Holton of Spokane, three daughters, Lola Jones, Bozeman; Wilma Staat, Manhattan; and Donna Downey, Beaverton, Ore.; two brothers, Oscar of Bozeman and Wallace of Arizona; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lena Sievert.
